Tanabe (Japan) and Santiago de Compostela (Spain), Kumano Kodo and Way of St. James main cities, started in 2008 a mutual promotion project for both World Heritage Pilgrimage Routes to deepen further the positive relations between the land of the Rising Sun and the land of the Setting Sun.
